Getting an Unrestricted APN from Vodacom

Introduction

This guide provides detailed steps on how to obtain an unrestricted APN from Vodacom, ensuring you have the necessary network access without restrictions.

Contacting Vodacom Customer Care

  • Call Vodacom customer care at (082) 123.
  • Speak to a consultant and request an Unrestricted APN.
    • The consultant will log a ticket for your request as they cannot directly assist with this.
  • Make sure to get a Service Request Reference Number.
    • This number will also be sent via SMS to the number linked to your SIM.

Completing the Unrestricted APN Form

  • Fill out the Unrestricted APN form.
  • Send an email to OnlineEscalationSR@vodacom.co.za with the following:
    • The Service Request Reference Number as the email subject line.
    • Attach the completed Unrestricted APN form.
    • Attach a copy of your ID.

Processing Time

The process can take up to 2 days, but you may receive confirmation within 12 hours.

Confirmation

You will receive an email confirmation once your Unrestricted APN is activated.

Setting Up the Unrestricted APN on a Mobile Device

  • If using a mobile device as a router, follow these steps:
    • Open “Settings” > “Mobile Data” > “Mobile Data Network.”
    • Change all APN settings to “unrestricted” (see the example Mobile Data setting).
    • Restart your mobile phone for the settings to take effect.
